After reporting a helium leak in the spacecraft, NASA has taken the next target date for the highly anticipated launch off the table — without immediately naming a new one.

A Saturday target date for the highly anticipated crewed maiden voyage of Boeing’s Starliner is now off the table — and NASA has not immediately named a new one. “The team has been in meetings for two consecutive days, assessing flight rationale, system performance, and redundancy,” NASA said in a statement. “There is still forward work in these areas, and the next possible launch opportunity is still being discussed.

“NASA will share more details once we have a clearer path forward,” the space agency said in its latest statement. Boeing’s historic goals The Crew Flight Test is a decade in the making — the culmination of Boeing’s efforts to develop a spacecraft worthy of ferrying astronauts to and from the International Space Station under NASA’s commercial program.
