Boeing has settled the first claims from last year’s Lion Air crash. The victims’ families will each receive at least $1.2 million, according to a Reuters report.

The Wisner law firm in Geneva, Illinois sid 11 cases against Boeing have been settled for an undisclosed amount.

The settlements are the first to be announced among more than 50 lawsuits that were filed against Boeing relating to the Lion Air crash on October 29, 2018. Boeing is also facing dozens of lawsuits related to an Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max crash in March 2019 that killed 157 people. "What we are trying to do with these families and the lawyers representing these families in all of these foreign countries is explain to them there really are no hidden agendas here," Feinberg told CNBC. "We are trying to get the money out. Boeing is pushing to get this money out separate from the litigation."

Boeing to start paying families of Max 737 crash victimsThe compensation fund pledged $50 million to family members of the 346 killed in the Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines crashes. 144K? Who signed off on that? That’s a desig flaw. It should be $100K for every second those poor people suffered on the way down. Oh that’s right they’re from another country, it’s cheaper over there. It's the right thing to do , but it still won't heal the families' Not even close to being enough. Anything less than a million is an insult. But then we wouldn’t want to give away so much money that the Boeing execs bonuses might shrink now would we!!

How Boeing's compensation fund for Boeing 737 Max victims was decidedBoeing’s victim compensation fund will provide $50 million to be distributed to families of the two 737 Max crashes. With victims from 35 countries, this is what Ken Feinberg of the Boeing Victims Fund Administration calls “a real challenge.” Boeing made $8 billion in profits last year. $50 million is a joke. THEY SHOULD BE BROUGHT UP ON MURDER CHARGES.!! The EU will get a hold of Boeing before long.
