The U.S. regulator has asked Boeing to provide more details about “how pilots interact with the airplane controls and displays in different flight scenarios,' the company said in a statement Thursday.

A Boeing 737 MAX 8 jetliner being built for Turkish Airlines takes off on a test flight in Renton, Wash. By Douglas MacMillan Douglas MacMillan Reporter covering corporate accountability Email Bio Follow May 16 at 5:31 PM Boeing’s path to returning its 737 Max jet to service is being held up by questions from the Federal Aviation Administration.

“This process will take as long as necessary to ensure the aircraft is returned to service safely,” FAA spokesman Gregory Martin said. Boeing’s timeline for a fix has been a moving target. The company has yet to submit its final package of software fixes to the FAA for approval, something it said it would do by early April. CEO Dennis Muilenburg said in late April that the company had completed its final technical test flight with the updated flight control system and was preparing for a certification flight and formal review by the FAA.

Withholding information begs questions. Where was Shanahan when Boeing withheld information? Did the Board know? What is Boeing’s ballpark liability in the two unnecessary crashes with 346 deaths & lost revenue from grounded planes? Is stock price impervious amid saber-rattling?

Trump was the preacher of self regulation and cutting red tape which he implemented in drain the swamp agenda. Cost a lot of lives, and they still rage about how long it takes.

I have no sympathy. This is all Boeing‘s fault.

Hundreds dead and Boeing refers to their fix as an 'update' that's being 'held up' by the people responsible for safety lol.

Thanks to Airbus...

Boeing are you freaking kidding me the FAA is holding this up? They should have asked these questions before hundreds of people lost their lives in your planes!!!

Oh boohoo, Boeing Are you finally being held accountable for your planes? That have killed HUNDREDS of innocent people Your CEO should have been fired for greed and negligence months ago

Super weird that the FAA would have a few questions after hundreds of people died and Boeing refers to the fix as an “update”.

After endangering lives. Shut up and answer the questions.

What? The FAA is taking an active role in certifying a killer airplane? What a competent plan (sic), and what chutzpah on Boeing's part to blame the delay in certifying their flying rock on someone else.

And Boeing objects to the examination. They see it as delay. No wonder the aircraft was released early to crash twice and KILL! Boeing wont learn without serious consequences for the two crashes? They need a mega billion $ judgement against them to learn. SUE THEM!

Booooo. SHAMEOnYouBoeing

Bull*****!

Well at least the FAA questions can hold the damn thing *up*

That pesky FAA wasn't getting in the way during that last government shutdown. Don't give them any ideas.

Just get Rosenstein to fly. He can land planes, apparently.

FAA chief says pilot decisions contributed to Boeing 737 MAX crashes“There are so many pieces to any accident,” Daniel K. Elwell said. “I’ve never looked at an accident where there weren’t three or four of five links in the chain, any one of which, if it hadn’t gone wrong, the plane would have survived.” Trump got to FAA. Any flight system that confuses pilots with 1000s of hours of experience is clearly inadequate. Who's manipulating BA stock price? Real easy to blame the dead man.... No pilot should ever step into another one.
