The multiyear payout is independent of lawsuits filed by families of the 346 people killed in the two crashes, which happened in October 2018 and March of this year, a Boeing spokesman said. Dozens of lawsuits have been filed against Boeing by families of Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines crash victims. The company is in settlement talks over the Lion Air litigation and has separately offered to negotiate with families of Ethiopian Airlines victims, although some families have said they are not ready to settle.

AN INSULT.... PEANUTS 1 BILLION !

They're going to need a helluva a lot more money than that.

100million only?

Z

closing the barn door after the horse got out

If individually, each of the affected family file a case against boeing they will be awarded far better compensation than that is being offered!!!! That too for gross negligence by Boeing!!!

Seems light

Had they applied but a fraction of that amount in adequate prevention and engineering this wouldn’t have resulted in so many tragedies

Less than 300tsd for a life.

Lets say approx. 400 families. So $250k per family. Boeing - You can do better

If they accept this help will Boeing consider it as a settlement

Southwest expects Boeing 737 MAX cancellations beyond Oct. 1: CEOSouthwest Airlines expects it will have to remove the grounded Boeing Co 737 MAX... Did they just realise? 737Max will not fly again until at least 2020 (even Oct’19 is optimistic) and even when it does I envisage they’ll fly empty. Flying Boeing = death wish. Unless there’s a complete management shake up I’d never set foot in a Boeing aircraft again. Public confidence is shot. It would be easier to sell tickets for a North Atlantic Spring cruise on a leaking Titanic II. I’d be in two minds over getting on board these in future. Can’t believe British_airways are buying these. Cash before safety? Please think again.
