Firefighters who protect Boeing's Washington facilities 'overwhelmingly' rejected the company's latest contract offer, citing pay and safety concerns.

A person holds a sign during a rally for Boeing Fire Fighters Local I-66 on Saturday, May 18, 2024. The union, which has approximately 125 members stationed at sites across the Puget Sound and Moses Lake, has been locked out during contract negotiations since May 4. Firefighters who protect Boeing 's Washington facilities "overwhelmingly" rejected the company's latest contract offer, citing pay and safety concerns.

I-66 members earn up to 30% less than firefighters at nearby departments, which forces them to leave the company to earn family-sustaining wages. This round of negotiations resulted in Boeing presenting its second, ‘Best and Final Offer,’ a contradiction in terms, and a clear sign of the corporate giant’s complete lack of respect for our members,” said IAFF General President Edward A. Kelly.
