Police still haven't released a cause of death, leaving many questions around the disappearance of the 18-year-old student.

A body recovered by authorities from the Mississippi River has been identified as Kori Gauthier, a missing student from Louisiana State University.

"Since Kori was first reported missing, the LSU Police Department, Baton Rouge Police Department and other law enforcement agencies and volunteers have taken exhaustive measures to locate her and, in the process, to determine what led to her disappearance," LSU Chief of Police Bart Thompson said."This is a difficult conclusion for all of us, but we hope this will bring closure for the Gauthier family.

Thompson said that evidence led investigators to rule out foul play as a possible factor in her death. Gauthier was last seen on April 5. Police found her vehicle unoccupied at the scene of an accident on the eastbound side of the Mississippi River Bridge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
