Body camera footage of a Loveland police officer who was fired after striking a handcuffed woman in the face was released Friday to the public along with the name of the officer.

At the hospital, she was escorted by police to an examination room, where she was verbally abusive to hospital staff and officers. The woman spit at a hospital staffer and at Officer Russell Maranto, who then struck her in the face. The woman was handcuffed at the time. Maranto was placed on administrative leave shortly after the incident and wasOn Friday, Police Chief Tim Doran released body-worn camera footage of the incident and Maranto was identified by the department.

“I want to apologize to the community for the actions of our former officer not upholding the standards of our policing profession,” Doran said in a video clip.
