Baja California governor said three people are being investigated in connection with the disappearances, and robbery may have been a motive

Three of the bodies found Friday in a remote area south of Ensenada are likely those of two missing San Diego men and a brother visiting from Australia, according to the Baja California state attorney's office. Callum Robinson, 33, an Australian living in San Diego; his visiting brother, Jake Robinson, 30; and their friend, Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, a U.S. citizen and San Diegan, were last seen a week ago while on a surfing trip in Ensenada.

“To be clear, the work continues and we will get to the bottom of this investigation,” she said in a social media post. “We will not rest until we have fully clarified what happened in these regrettable acts.” Three people — two men and a woman— are under investigation in connection with the incident, and one of them was arrested and charged Friday for forced disappearance, Ensenada officials said.
