Parmi les 14 couleurs proposées pour la finition extérieure, il y a une nouvelle couleur appelée Sparkling Copper Grey. Le bleu Marina Bay métallisé est disponible exclusivement pour la BMW X7 M60i. Les finitions « BMW Individual » Ametrine métallisée, Dravit Grey métallisé, Tanzanite Blue II métallisé et Frozen Pure Grey métallisé sont également disponibles.
L'autre moteur se trouve dans le X7 M60i, et il s'agit d'un V8 turbo de 4,4 litres mis à jour qui développe 523 ch et 555 lb-pi de couple et qui est également doté du système d'assistance hybride léger. Le nouveau V8 bénéficie des avantages thermodynamiques d'un collecteur d'échappement transversal, de turbocompresseurs symétriques et d'un refroidissement externe de l'huile moteur.
