According to The Athletic, the pact is a two-way deal for the 2020-21 season that will pay Carlsson $700,000 while in the NHL and $100,000 if he is with the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League. The 2021-22 portion of the contract is a one-way deal for $750,000.
The 23-year-old Carlsson has three NHL points in 23 games with the Blue Jackets over the past four seasons. He played in six games this past season while going scoreless.
