If Putin doesn't pull back and DE-escalate, best move would probably be to do the OPPOSITE of his demands to limit NATO. Get NATO to issue Ukraine an IMMEDIATE probationary membership and load them up with NATO troops. Ukraine is just trying to protect ITS borders.
Since NATO has been absorbing most of Europe, it should absorb Russia too. Problem gone.
