Nneka Cleaver, owner of Black Business San Antonio, said the holiday expo will serve as an economic empowerment for vendors. She said the main reason for hosting the expo is to support local business owners. “It gives them the opportunity to continue to grow their businesses,” Cleaver said. “You never know, it could take just one sale that can make them stay in business or that can put them out of business. Every sale counts.”The free event will take place from noon to 6 p.m., with more than 100 small business owners, holiday gifts, services and products. The expo will include live entertainment, giveaways, food trucks and music. There is a $10 parking fee.
Cleaver said there will be a raffle ticket fundraiser with proceeds going to an annual gift-giving event for children up to 18 years of age. She said thisVendor Annette Godfrey, 61, owner of Not Only Tees, said she’s been in business for several years. Godfrey launched her business after she couldn’t find her name on any items. She started with personalized candy bar wrappers before branching out to emboss name meanings on orders.that include T-shirts, decor, tumblers and travel mugs.
