The FBI is investigating the death of a black man in police custody who was seen on video being restrained by a Minneapolis officer kneeling on his neck.as being the result of a "medical incident" before video circulated widely on social media showing the unidentified man's arrest by two officers. You'll get the latest updates on this topic in your browser notifications.
Police arrived to find "the suspect was sitting on top of a blue car and appeared to be under the influence. Two officers arrived and located the suspect, a male believed to be in his 40s, in his car. He was ordered to step from his car." The suspect was lying on his stomach, next to a Minneapolis patrol car, and the officer appears to be placing his weight on the man's neck.
The bystanders ask the police to let up on the man, believing the officers were hurting him — even noting they might kill him. A second officer deflects those comments and then appears to mock the suspect, saying, "This is why you don't do drugs, kids."At a press conference Tuesday morning, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said "I believe what I saw ... was wrong at every level," adding, "Being black in America should not be a death sentence. He should not have died.
That was nothing short of cold blooded murder. And the fact that he was being recorded & people were telling him to stop, as was the victim, & he continued? Nothing but a monster.
Why do you need to throw the race card in there? We are all equally human. A human’s life was taken.
Sometimes I wonder how cops think. The man was already restrained. Now look. You kill a man, now you pay. Hopefully.
Amy Cooper did not make an out burst like you reported. She made a racist threat. Please report it correctly. This is part of the problem.
Nor could he stand someone treating a fellow HUMAN BEING that way. He actually reported fellow officers for that kind of treatment. BLUE WALL BE DAMNED TOO.
This is also disgusting. They should be fired under the charge of Conduct Unbecoming of a Police Officer. There are other ways to restrain someone who is resisting arrest. My father was a State Trooper for 20 yrs and Sheriff’s Deputy for 17 yrs and NOT ONCE did this.
This is not good at all.
Land of the free... Home of the brave
The usage of excessive force by law enforcement is a huge plague in our system that needs to be addressed. Stomping down on someone's neck is unnecessary and very detrimental. I hope justice will prevail in this case and in cases similar to it.
The officer should be arrested wtf!!!!!! He murdered a man
I am so sick when I seen that video it messed my whole day up I am so sick of these police officer killing my people like it ain't nothing and how can your wife and your children sleep with you at night knowing you just killed a man that was begging for his life
And before anyone starts with the “he shouldn’t have been resisting “ crap....when the body is under attack it has a natural “flight or fight” response. When you are being choked and denied oxygen there is no such thing as just staying still.
Correction . He was murdered.
That's a new one. 'I killed him with my knee.'
