Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson and Ray Parker Jr. joined Jimmy Fallon and The Roots on 'The Tonight Show' to perform the theme song to 1984's 'Ghostbusters' during Fallon's 'Classroom Instruments' musical segment.

Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson reminisced on making 1984's 'Ghostbusters' ahead of the franchise's latest sequel 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,' in theaters Fridayto perform"Ghostbusters," the titular theme song from the 1984 movie.

Ray Parker Jr., the musician who originally wrote and performed the song, also joined the group for a special rendition of the theme song performed with classroom instruments. Parker Jr. 69, Fallon, 49, Murray, 73, and Hudson, 78, each wore tan Ghostbusters suits bearing their names for the performance, and Murray could be seen blowing into a kazoo during the song.

He, Fallon and Hudson each clanked percussive instruments together for the performance, while Parker Jr. played a triangle while singing the song's lyrics. Members of the Roots played along to the song using classroom-sized xylophones, bongos, a ukelele and a melodica, among others, and Slimer, the iconic green ghost from the 1984 movie, even makes an appearance at the end of the"People didn't know what the hell we were doing there, and we just kept walking back and forth doing it and thought - you know how there's a naked cowboy in Times Square?to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to...

"They were concerned about us, we just kept going like this and why were we dressed that way? But we knew what we had, so we just kept — we didn't care," he added.. Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor, James Acaster and Logan Kim also appear in the new movie, which follows the Ghostbusters, both new and old, fighting an enemy that emerges from an ancient artifact and threatens the entirety of N.Y.C.Robert Downey Jr.
