In most instances, if you knew something was killing 40k people a year & your friend had that problem but pretended it was great, you'd be a pretty lousy friend. But if they are morbidly obese & you tell them they are just 'curvy', the participation trophy gen thinks it's cool.

Also... shame people and they won't lose weight because they might not be able to. These comments usually come from people for whom weight has never been an issue. They won't lose weight they will hide indoors and cry.
He's wrong. Some people ARE born fat. My Mum was always fat and her brother was always thin. He ate more than she did and was no more active. She lived on a diet of lettuce watching him have pie for dessert and her family did NOT eat take out.

I've been extremely fat, and (after dire medical advice) I've lost 40% of my weight and been non-fat. It's a subject I know about. Shaming and other abuse hurts, and doesn't help a fat person lose weight. Not every fat person needs to lose weight in any case. Maher can fuck off.
