One resident says that he grew up on Biggie's music and is grateful to be part of the celebration.
"It's just amazing to be out here. I was born and raised in Brooklyn. I grew up listening to Biggie’s music and just for me to be a part of this event, I'm so ecstatic," he said. The event organizer says a large crowd is expected to enjoy music and live performances, as well as artwork and double-dutch.
The MTA announced Saturday that four Brooklyn Subway Stations “will be loaded with limited edition cards” honoring Biggie. Fifty thousand MetroCards featuring his portrait on the reverse side will be available for purchase starting on a first come, first serve basis.
