President Joe Biden has signed the National Defense Authorization Act into law, authorizing $768.2 billion in military spending, including a 2.7% pay raise for service members, for 2022

The new bill passed earlier this month with bipartisan support, with Democrats and Republicans touting wins in the final package.

Republicans, meanwhile, touted success in blocking an effort to add women to the draft, as well as the inclusion of a provision that bars dishonorable discharges for service members who refuse the COVID-19 vaccine. It also includes $300 million for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, a show of support in the face of Russian aggression, as well as $4 billion for the European Defense Initiative.

One of the few smart things he has done...

Only military spending is never questioned. You know why? Our standard of living is tied to our standard of killing. Did Godfather shortchanged his goons?

MandyKilpatric4 Endless money for endless war.

Wow, $25 Billion more than he originally asked for. I guess both sides can work together. Maybe there is hope !

As he should.

But cuts pay to our military personnel…..

zero for the ussa border, but billions for israels border and other unimportant parcels of land.

Did Sen. Munchkin have a tantrum about inflation and the deficit?

Cut it in half so we can actually afford to invest in our people and not in guns.

Thank you sir

Real reporting about defense spending would include veteran affairs, interest on previous spending & wars, black ops and back door subsidies/foreign aid. So really 1.3 trillion. Then put that in terms of tax revenue not GDP. Defense from whom and what exactly? $29 trillion in debt and rising and spending frivolously on nonsense to line pockets of politicians. Spend it ON YOUR CITIZENS IF YOU HAVE IT — Tuition, healthcare,TEACHERS for three. HELLO. Almost $1 trillion for this RUBBISH? But you go panhandling for infrastructure that serves the general population — THE CITIZENS who voted you in. WOW. 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻
