MIAMI — President Joe Biden's campaign disputed polling that indicates the public thinks more highly of former President Donald Trump as a world leader compared to the incumbent.
Principal deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks dismissed speculation that there is"a disconnect" between Biden's competing foreign and domestic policy priorities as two wars, one between Israel and Hamas and another between Ukraine and Russia, continue and as inflation persists throughout the United States.
Communications director Michael Tyler added Biden had demonstrated"the steady, competent leadership that is needed in order to handle complex global situations vs. Republicans MAGAs.""Donald Trump, who, when he is not praising Hezbollah or throwing our allies under the bus, is talking about reinstating a Muslim ban and fanning the flames of Islamophobia across the country," he said."That obviously, it does nothing to keep us safe. It does nothing to aid our allies.
A CNN poll this week found more respondents consider Trump to be a more"effective world leader" than Biden, 36% to 48%. Up until recently, Biden's foreign policy approval-disapproval rating had been better than his overall numbers. His average overall rating is net negative 14 percentage points, 41% to 55%, while his foreign policy one is net negative 20 points, 38% to 58%.
