Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn reacts to fans who’ve jokingly threatened to riot if Kim Wexler dies in season 6. Seehorn has starred in the first five seasons of the Breaking Bad prequel show. The series, which premiered in 2015, revolves around the rise of Bob Odenkirk’s Jimmy McGill, who later goes by the alias Saul Goodman. The show has received rave reviews for the past five seasons but is nearing its end as season 6 is about to air on AMC.
Kim had a wild arc in Better Call Saul season 5. Kim and Jimmy made a pact to be completely honest with each other in season 5 and decided to get married so Kim wouldn’t ever be able to testify against him should Jimmy go to court. Kim also starts to get more comfortable with Saul’s sketchy business practices and even stands up to Lalo Salamanca when he barges into their apartment to threaten her husband.
I have been told of the riot. I can't even articulate how grateful I feel about fans' perception of my character and my performance of this character. I feel the concern. I am stopped on the street with the concern.
With Better Call Saul starting to catch up to Breaking Bad’s timeline, several storylines need to be resolved before Walter White and Jesse Pinkman appear. One of the biggest storylines is Kim and Jimmy’s battle against Howard Hamlin. The end of Better Call Saul season 5 showed Kim hatching a plan to ruin Howard’s career and take the profit from the Sandpiper Crossing case.
Certain characters like Gus Fring, Mike Ehrmantraut, and Saul himself are safe this season since they have large roles in Breaking Bad, but the fates of other characters such as Nacho Varga, Lalo, and Kim are much more uncertain. If Saul gets a happy ending in his post-Breaking Bad storyline, he may reunite with Kim, but given how often Vince Gilligan kills off characters, Seehorn’s Kim Wexler could be dead by the time Walt and Jesse start cooking crystal meth.
