The Brooklyn's Finest meatball sub at Sclafani's
Sclafani’s makes great bagels, but if you’ve only been there for their bagels, I urge you to go try a sandwich on their sub roll. The bread, which is made in-house with a recipe that has been in the Sclafani family for, is lights out good. It’s chewy; it’s bubbly; it’s crispy; it’s fluffy. It’s some of the best sandwich bread in Dallas, I think. This week, I stopped by the Preston Center spot for lunch and walked out with two sandwiches – the New York, New York and the Brooklyn’s Finest .
Sclafani’s is located at 6135 Luther Lane, Dallas. It’s open Wednesday to Sunday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.The Sushi Tour of Japan at Yutaka Sushi Bistro is a rotating selection of five pieces of sushi. Although there are excellent hot Japanese dishes at this cozy, gem of a restaurant, it’s the sushi that lures me again and again. Sourcing impeccably fresh fish, including delicacies from Japan, chef-owner Yutaka Yamato serves some of the best sushi in Dallas. I always order the Sushi Tour of Japan, the chef’s rotating selection of specials. The pristine sushi are minimally dressed, to keep the fish flavors in focus.
