China’s foreign exchange regulator said on Sept. 10 that it had decided to remove quota restrictions on two inbound investment programmes, the qualified foreign institutional investor, or QFII, scheme and the yuan-denominated RQFII.
Getting rid of the caps will “make it much more convenient for overseas investors to participate in China’s domestic financial markets, making China’s bond and stock markets more broadly accepted by international markets,” the regulator said.
