Bay to Breakers, the annual 7½-mile dash from the Embarcadero to Ocean Beach , returns to San Francisco this weekend and so, too, do a number of street closures and transit detours.
Between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday, Beale and Spear streets will close between Market and Mission streets. So, too, will Mission Street between Fremont and Steuart streets, as will Market between Drumm and Steuart streets. Howard Street will close between 3rd and 9th streets from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday, and so will 9th Street between Howard and Market streets.
