'It's a sign that the prejudice is diminishing.' Barney Frank on an openly gay candidate for president surging in the polls. - Hardball

30 years ago, coming out as a gay politician had a much different effect.

Former Congressman Barney Frank once said that when he came out to then-House Speaker Tip O'Neill, O'Neill told Frank he was "sorry to hear it," because O'Neill thought it would limit Frank's political future. Fast-forward to today, and we're seeing an openly gay candidate rising in the polls for the Democratic presidential nomination.

hardball What ab that time we elected a black man 2x? What keeps prejudice alive in politics seems 2 have more 2 do w ppl electing officials solely bc they’re nonwhite, gay, nonChristian, etc. 2 be non-prejudiced, we’d have 2 elect ppl based on their character & ideas-not their identity.

hardball Barney just wants to get in Mayor Pete’s pants!!!

hardball Oh God, make him go away, esp today

hardball It’s unlikely that gay GOP members will ever be openly gay or unprejudiced while serving.

hardball Why is the “gay aspect” of human relations open to such scrutiny, while a vast array of non-gay relations displays nothing but dominance and submission, and violence?

hardball Barney Frank, creator of the housing crisis of 11 years ago.

hardball

hardball What, what

hardball It’s 2019, nobody cares what color, gender or sexual orientation you are. Only identity politics judges people on these traits instead of their merits.

hardball That’s what we said about a black president too

hardball Nah the left will never have it, they need prejudice, racism and hate, without it they have nothing. They will do everything possible to divide this nation and keep it divided.

hardball • Pete exudes HONESTY

hardball we R a society of hypocrites we cannot accept a monogamous gay couple, but overlook the behaviors of this misogynistic POTUS
