Careless disposal of solid fuel barbecue ashes caused an estimated $150,000 damage early Friday to an Osler St home, a fire inspector says. yxe

Saskatoon Fire Department said in a press release that they received multiple calls just after 5 a.m. Friday morning reporting a house on fire in the 1100 block of Osler Street.Crews arrived to find all the occupants had escaped unharmed after being alerted by smoke alarms, and there were visible flames at the rear of the house, which were quickly knocked down. A positive pressure fan was used to remove smoke before the scene was turned over to a fire investigator around 7 a.m.
