Stephen Calk, chairman of the Federal Savings Bank in Chicago, issued $16 million in high-risk loans to Manafort in an attempt to secure a position in the Trump administration, such as Treasury Secretary. The case was later returned to Manhattan for prosecution.

He is currently serving a seven-and-a-half-year prison sentence after he was convicted of ten felonies, including bank and tax fraud, money laundering and obstruction of justice.
