Gerwig did a wonderful job w/Little Women. She brought a new vision to it which you need to do w/the 6th version of the same story. But who do you remove from the current nominees? Taxi Driver was nominated for 6 Oscars in 76 but Scorsese wasn’t nominated for Best Director.

I love the way she adapted Little Women and I love her vision. I fell in love with her take on storytelling when in Lady Bird deconstructed the American generational tale to reconfigure it into something new. Although I don't think she was one of the best director of the year.
