LOS ANGELES—Walt Disney Co.’s “Avengers: Endgame” has become the new all-time box-office champion. The April superhero release over the weekend passed 2009’s “Avatar” as the top-grossing movie at the world-wide box office when figures aren’t adjusted for inflation.

Avatar was terrible
I wonder how many people will be able to distinguish one of these extravaganzas from another in 5 or 10 years?
If the numbers aren't adjusted for inflation (they're not), they're worthless. And even if they were (they're not) Avatar's achievement would still be greater because it was original IP. Compare that to the huge inventory of prior art that Avengers Endgame drew upon.
Except that it didn't. Also, no one cares.
