“Avast’s core mission is to keep people around the world safe and secure, and I realize the recent news about Jumpshot has hurt the feelings of many of you, and rightfully raised a number of questions—including the fundamental question of trust,” Vlcek wrote. “As CEO of Avast, I feel personally responsible and I would like to apologize to all concerned.
Senator Wyden added: “Avast’s past practice of marrying antivirus software with the secret mining of consumers’ data was a terrible move. But the decision today to shutter its data broker subsidiary is a model for how companies should respond to criticism of privacy abuses. To stop future abuses, Congress needs to pass my bill to hold companies and their CEOs accountable for abusing Americans’ personal information.

I would have loved to have seen the look in the faces of these unethical employees when Avast fired them! I uninstalled avast_antivirus I was using it since 2008. It was very painful to Uninstall what i trusted for more than a decade. But i did. No more back stabbings RIPAvast Avast
