Increasing the usage of drones also increases the risks of surveillance and invasion of privacy. When regulation is loose, it raises more concerns.

The company's latest drone, dubbed X10, can fly at 45 miles an hour and has a 65X zoom camera that can read license plates from 800 feet away. Infrared sensors on the drone can track people and objects while also helping it fly autonomously in the dark.

The drone is small enough to fit the trunk of a police car, and the NYPD thinks it can substitute helicopter deployments with these drones that can even take off autonomously to investigate potential gunshot alerts flagged by artificial intelligence tool, ShotSpotter,The drones are also equipped with 5G connectivity that enables them to be controlled by pilots at remote facilities or command centers, which is how Skydio plans to end high-speed car chases.
