The sheriff's office first tweeted about the crash at about 7:14 a.m. All eastbound lanes of East Arapahoe Road at South Dester Street were initially closed due to the crash, the sheriff's office said. Just before 8:30 a.m., all eastbound lanes had reopened. In an update at about 8 a.m., the sheriff's office posted on the social platform X that the pedestrian had died and the driver of the vehicle was being cooperative and did remain on scene.ALERT: All eastbound lanes of E. Arapahoe Road at S. Dexter St. are closed due to a serious auto vs. pedestrian accident. Traffic is being diverted onto S.
