FILE – A photo of the front of Puyallup High School in Puyallup. Authorities are investigating a bomb threat that a small number of Puyallup High School teachers received early Saturday.

An anonymous teacher who received the threat shared an email PHS sent their staff and families with KOMO News. “The threat, which appears to have originated from an IP address in Africa, mentioned causing harm to staff and students, bombing the school, and causing harm to school buses. This is an ongoing investigation with law enforcement,” PHS said in an email.A bomb-sniffing dog will be conducting a thorough sweep of the school grounds as a precautionary measure, according to PHS. There will also be an increased police presence on the campus throughout the day.

The anonymous teacher who reached out to KOMO News said that neither staff nor students should go to PHS on Monday while the threat is being investigated. Puyallup Police Department confirmed the threat, but said at this time they do not believe there is an imminent threat to students or staff.
