Officials have dropped over 2,000 pounds (1,000 kilograms) of sweet potatoes and carrots from the sky to feed hungry wallabies affected by the Australian bushfires.

The New South Wales government is working to make sure the brush-tailed rock-wallabies affected by the Australian bushfires are fed as part of a post-fire wildlife recovery effort, according to Matt Kean, minister of energy and environment. Officials have dropped over 2,000 pounds of sweet potatoes and carrots across different colonies in the last week, Kean said.

— Matt Kean MP January 11, 2020 "The provision of supplementary food is one of the key strategies we are deploying to promote the survival and recovery of endangered species like the brush-tailed rock-wallaby," Kean said."Initial fire assessments indicate the habitat of several important brush-tailed rock-wallaby populations was burnt in the recent bushfires.

— Matt Kean MP January 11, 2020 The brush-tailed rock-wallabies are marsupials -- like kangaroos -- who"live on rocky escarpments, granite outcrops and cliffs," according to Australia's Department of Environment and Energy website. Of the 15 species in Australia, most have disappeared and are now considered threatened, the website says. The species is also considered endangered in New South Wales.

Great

That's good to take care of those in need but the way they did it wasn't perfect because the staff was eaten by rabbits

I am so touched by this act....God bless those involved so much....

👏👏👏💙

Well those pretty ones definitely gonna expect for 'vege' rain further and will end up in vain😒

andrilisalou And they're doing it with helicopters so they can burn more fossil fuels. Humanity I hate you.

Manna from the sky.....a GOD given rescue. 😥

Such a great idea

I know they are desperate for food and providing food is wonderful. But all I can think of is 1000 of pounds of carrots and potatoes plummeting to the ground...I hope it didn't kill more animals or terrify them into more dangerous situations.

This just in, hundreds of wallabies found impelled by carrots in freak accident of vegetables rainin from the sky ClimateChange

Someone please drop a billion dollars from helicopters to my neighbourhood

Australia's indigenous people have a solution for the country's bushfires. And it's been around for 50,000 yearsThe fires in Australia have been burning for months, consuming nearly 18 million acres of land, causing thousands to evacuate and killing potentially millions of animals. BS cnn Start reporting facts and not your personal agendas. Billions know you are not trustworthy. So climate change means only rising temps and hotter weather? Theres no such thing as climate change, you people blame every natural diaster on climate change when the same shit has been happening for hundreds of years A good solution to the bushfires would’ve been allowing the citizens to do control burns like they had been doing instead of enforcing regulations that prevented this action under the guise of “climate change”.

How One Jewish Family Reclaimed Its Art Looted By The NazisLike thousands of other Jewish families throughout Europe, the Deutsch de la Meurthe family desperately fled their Paris home to escape the Nazi forces marching toward the city during World War II. Is this somehow connected to me? Interesting read. Perhaps South Africa can learn a thing or two about reclaiming land from settlers. Interesting, if every colonized country starts reclaiming their artifacts from UK then every British citizen will be in the streets begging.
