About 5 million people in Australia's second-most populous city Melbourne are contending with some of the harshest restrictions ever imposed on the city, after authorities declared a"state of disaster" on Sunday.
Police patrolled deserted streets Sunday night, enforcing an overnight curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as part of stage four lockdown measures imposed to battle a widening coronavirus outbreak. Those restrictions include a curfew in Melbourne for the next six weeks, a ban on wedding gatherings, and schools must go back to online classes.
“I think there is a huge disconnect here in what the goal of public policy is here. 99.8% of deaths are in people over 24. You don’t lock down healthy people. It’s just irrational.” ~Scott Atlas, Stanford University Medical Center.

I live in Melbourne, the city affected. It’s tragic, curfew in place, all retail shut, and no exercise allowed apart from walking or running. Industries being shut for 6 weeks, no people allowed to visit, only one person allowed to leave the house for shopping, masks mandatory.
If only the U.S. would follow suit, we might be able to get this nightmare virus eradicated!!!
