We spoke with one Austin mom, Gloria Reneau is a proud mama to 16-month-old Sophia , affectionately nicknamed "Squishy" because she's just so squishable. However, getting to this point was a challenging journey. Gloria lost one of her twins at 18 weeks pregnant. "It was very difficult. I grieved the remainder of the pregnancy. I was scared," Gloria recalls.
"She is, you know, a case of mine that's a true miracle. I mean, she has made leaps and bounds, and I'm just proud to be a part of it," Carissa shares. Carissa addresses both Sophia's physical and developmental needs and finds great fulfillment in her role. "She's another reminder of why I do this. You know, it's kind of a known thing in the social services world that we're not the best paid, but we are the most passionate.
