Garrett Rolfe, the former Atlanta police officer charged with felony murder in the killing of Rayshard Brooks has been granted a $500,000 bond with conditions Tuesday.

His attorney argues the shooting was justified and that Rolfe was defending his life as well as the mortal safety of others in the area, even as Brooks family attorney L. Chris Stewart has said a stray police round struck a third-party's occupied vehicle at the Wendy's restaurant parking lot where Brooks was fatally shot.

Stewart and fellow attorney Justin Miller said in a joint statement that while the family was disappointed,"they understand that this is just one step in the long quest for justice for Rayshard."

At least one of George Floyd's killers is out on bail, too A broken system of 'innocent until proven guilty' People are in jail without being convicted of a crime b/c they can't afford bond - people with money avoid jail. It needs to be reformed, & fair

So in the eyes of BLM , I guess it would have been better if the suspect shot Officer Rolfe with his taser and then hit his gun and shot him in the head ?

Who knew police in Atlanta made that kind of money.

Show trial. Wait for the riots when they are acquitted.

this is a bull shit wrap!

This man is innocent, justified shooting

The killing of Ragshard was justified. If the idiot had complied with police he would be alive today. Take note kids, never drive drunk, never resist arrest and never ever try to steal am officers weapon.

Oddly not a word of the Tulsa cops shot in the head on tonight’s broadcast. One has died.

They’re felling like God because the badge !! Very disrespectful to our citizens!!

First good news since the DA rear-ended him.

He's innocent.

No mention of Taser or other relevant details. Poor reporting only intended to incite violence and divide. Nice work, NBC

Never should have been charged..

He’s the one who shot a man in the back twice? They let that thing out on bond?

Anyone that have the chance of seeing the entire footage from the chest cam and Wendy's security cam, will see that this guy did what is needed to protect his live and his partner's. This is a witch Hunt!!!!

Should be more imo

Innocent.

Woooo!!!! Now, free him of all charges. The man is innocent atlanta_police CityofAtlanta

This case could be one of the most absurd anti-police cases of all time. There’s no way the DA will get 12 jurors to agree that Rolfe didn’t act in accordance with Atlanta’s police manual when he opened fire. I don’t think he’ll get 3 jurors to agree.

Every one deserves a second chance...

His face is very punchable. 👊🏻... and that’s being kind.

Hopefully the charges are dropped

He should be out anyway.

Good. His charges will be dropped soon too.
