Close call! Glad everyone is safe! That grass though! It pulled up like a rug ... didn’t even break apart. The tree might’ve had a poor root system but that grass was gagging on for dear life!
Whoever trimmed the trees took all the trunks - boughs off the side of the road, so the tree was always top heavy that way

that is the problem with unnatural tree growth. over trimmed on one side and no deep root because of reticulation, and less distancing of roots because of concrete paving etc.
