The bestselling author will also attend an awards banquet in Fort Worth.

Bestselling author Chris Enss will be making the rounds in North Texas this month. After attending thebanquet in Fort Worth on Oct. 29, Enss will give a presentation at the Allen Public Library at 3 p.m. on Oct. 30.

Enss, who is nominated for three Will Rogers Medallion Awards, will travel to Allen to discuss her book. Admission to the library program is free, and it will be broadcast live atfocuses on the many women who contributed to the development of the U.S. railroad industry, including inventors, nurses, hostesses and telegraph operators.

Enss has been writing about the women of the Old West for more than 20 years, with more than 40 published books on the subject. She has won five Will Rogers Medallion Awards, two Elmer Kelton Book Awards, an Oklahoma Book Award and two Western Writers of America Spur Finalist awards. Enss is president of Western Writers of America and co-chair of the Historical Commission in Nevada County, Calif.
