Brown, 55, spent the past four seasons as the Atlanta Braves' vice president of scouting and is credited with overseeing their recent run of draft successes.

The Braves selected Spencer Strider, Vaughn Grissom and Michael Harris under Brown's watch. Harris captured National League Rookie of the Year honors last season. Strider finished second.
