AstraZeneca and Oxford University on Wednesday acknowledged a manufacturing error that is raising questions about preliminary results of their experimental Covid-19 vaccine.

earlier this month. In the group that got two full doses, the vaccine appeared to be 62 percent effective. Combined, the drugmakers said the vaccine appeared to be 70 percent effective.

Neither Oxford University’s nor AstraZeneca’s initial public statements mentioned the dosing error, but the head of AstraZeneca's non-oncology research and development, Mene Pangalos,on Monday that the reason for the half dose was “serendipity" and a stroke of good fortune. “AstraZeneca/Oxford get a poor grade for transparency and rigor when it comes to the vaccine trial results they have reported,” Natalie Dean, assistant professor of biostatistics atthe University of FloridaAnother point of confusion comes from a decision to pool results from two groups of participants who received different dosing levels to reach an average 70 percent effectiveness, David Salisbury, and associate fellow of the global health program at the Chatham House think tank, told the...

Experts also say a relatively small number of people in the low dose group — 2,741 people — makes it difficult to know if the effectiveness seen in the group is real or a statistical quirk, although AstraZeneca has said all of its results were statistically significant.

Emails obtained by U.S. Right to Know show a statement in The Lancet authored by 27 prominent public health scientists condemning “conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin” was organized by employees of EcoHealth Alliance associated with WIV.

I'm shocked! I mean what could possibly go wrong when something is rushed through the process...? 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

As soon as Biden is declared the president elect it will be 100% safe

This is why scientists review the data on effectiveness and safety. Press releases are full of hopes and stylized facts.

brontyman Great...

Well, fuck.

So it was all bullshit from the beginning

Error? It was blatantly done. They should be ashamed

That’s not good.

Hello, please check out my gig if you need any kind of graphic design.

The real results. 🙄👇

Errors are acceptable within legitimate reason but hiding and not being transparent is not acceptable.. as per reports and filing, nothing was disclosed..

God bless Oxford.

It was all too good to be true. We need reliable info before asking people to take these vaccines. We know nothing about the long term impact of RNA based vaccines. Will it impact offsprings? We don’t know

“Release the fear mongers!”

I knew an 'effective' vaccine was too good to be true. 🤔 Especially for it to happen this quickly.

I question some of these people it takes years to develop a good vaccine without bad side effects. Most companies are out to make millions they don’t care about people.

Read the article not the headline

I'm sure it is Trumps fault

Are they part of operation warp speed? 🙄 imagine that mistakes while working extra fast.

Jane Fonda called the COVID-19 pandemic 'God's gift to the Left.' that tells the opportunism of the Democratic Party. Do they care about the 200K+ Americans, or do they consider these unfortunate victims to be props to use in the anti-Trump drama they subject us to day after day?

And it starts
