'No SF in TX,' Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, tweeted. He has feuded over homelessness with Steve Adler, Austin's Democratic mayor.

Adler said Austin’s police chief assured him the city’s jump in crime during the last year was unrelated to the temporary lifting of the camping ban. He noted that homeless people in Austin were more likely to be the victims of crime than the perpetrators.

Since the ban was reinstated, the city has opened a 50-bed homeless shelter, is about to buy an 87-bed motel to convert into a shelter and hopes to create a total of 300 new beds, Adler said. He noted that last year the city received $900,000 in state assistance.to help with homelessness and housing,” he said. “I like that the governor is getting involved. This is not an Austin issue; it’s a national issue.

At the state-run camp last week, homeless people said they were on waiting lists for beds at downtown shelters. Some had applied for disability assistance and jobs, but without transportation to downtown, about six miles away, they had difficulty following up.

Everywhere that Democrats go homeless people will grow and flow. Liberal policies have caused an explosion in homelessness, drug use and petty crime. How is that typhoid LA? Disgusting. LiberalismIsAMentalDisease

So many homeless owned homes in Norcal before Obama bailed out the wrong people. Now the Sheik of Dubai owns their and nearly all Californians despise and revile those who lost their homes. It's a Christian thing, isn't it?

Texas don’t play around!

F GregAbbott_TX on behalf of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Those folks don’t want your lack of innovation any more than San Francisco does.

Trump gave everyone permission to be openly hostile to every state/city/country. He has always hated the poor. The fool once said in an interview he envies the homeless b/c they don’t owe anyone any money!! 🤯 No one is worse than this poor excuse for a human!

Homelessness won’t be fixed until we’ve figured out how to prevent politicians from making money off it.

There you go, Democrats now hurting otherwise well run states.

Other states literally give their homeless people one way bus tickets to California. And we have the best climate. If I was homeless, I’d want to be where it was 80° and sunny a majority of the time 🤷🏼‍♀️

The unemployment numbers are down because of the gig economy. Those folks aren’t applying for unemployment but they are living in cars and on couches - hardly the American dream. Shelters are full of Uber drivers .

California will be one of the reasons Trump wins reelection. Being a citizen of the United States and a California, I say no too Democratic Socialism.✌️🏾

Convert closed box stores into small apartments.

'There is little evidence that the homeless people themselves are Californians: During a visit to a state-run camp last week, only one of about 100 people said he was from California.' Nice try Texans. Own your own problems.

If you are looking for job opportunity or a better life, don’t most ppl think to pack up and go to cities? And if you become homeless, you’d want to migrate to cities where it’s warm so you don’t freeze to death at night or in the winter?

Once we understand how money recirculate wage increases make sense they dont take from companies or the economy. Wage increases allow more people to buy more stuff money moves faster around economy goes back to employers

We need a HomesGuarantee in 2021.
