Twenty-nine percent of Republicans said they were either very or somewhat confident in the newly-inaugurated president's ability to unite lawmakers from both parties on Capitol Hill. A further 1 percent said they didn't know how they felt on the matter. Sixty percent of all voters were confident in the new president being a unifying force, while 39 percent took a more pessimistic view.
