Arson victims find pet that disappeared during house fire

Published: Apr. 23, 2024 at 8:33 AM EDT CLEVELAND , Ohio - A family devastated by a house fire intentionally set Saturday has found some comfort in the return of one of their two pets.

Felipe Freitas and Li made it out of the house with their 7-month-old baby boy by jumping from a second story window. The told 19 News Saturday that their two animals, a dog and a cat named Salami and Evelyn, had not made it out of the house. Days later, Evelyn returned to the family.They estimate more than $700K in damages and for the house to be demolished.A $2,500 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
