Google's dominance over free search engines means 'you may not be getting the best products or the best services ... rather you're getting what Google wants you to see,' says Arkansas' attorney general. 'And that's what is so concerning.'

The Justice Department's

"People use Google because they choose to, not because they're forced to, or because they can't find alternatives," Walker wrote. What is the most compelling evidence that says to you what Google is doing is illegal and we should sue the company?

The only solution is total free speech on all platforms at all times. With NO limits. These big tech companies try all they can to suppress free speech and end up in these messes.

I think this lawsuit is bogus as every consumer has a choice as to what search engine they want to use it's part of singing up ur computer.

It's a trip hearing these free market heroes twisting themselves into pretzels to defend tariffs and anti-trust litigation.

I heard her on NPR yesterday. She was just another politician making up fake statistics and going off topic. It was slightly enraging.

This investigation is far overdue but I wonder how far the old white men who lack knowledge of basic tech intuitively will fair against teams of the worlds best computer scientists.

This is stupid. If you want to truly know if a product is the best you and clarify using various websites and reviews. You don't have to rely on only what Google says. You want something different? Use dogpile as your search engine lol

That's not how search engines work. Your search results are based on your geographic location, search history, and browsing history as well as popularity and credibility. It's not what Google wants you to see; it's what it has learned that you want to see.

That's true with all search engines, you get what the provider wants you to see. Do they not know that, or are they obtuse?

So outrage from the left over 'products' being censored but free speech not so much. Got it.

I understand the gist of the argument against Google; the problem is that the current suit is so badly constructed and the timing is so wrong. The administration bringing the suit is also wrong; just like the case against Perdu Pharma, this won't amount to substantial change.

Google controls so much

I've known this to be true for years. Many businesses that don't play ball can't be found unless you pull up their map and zoom into about 10 square feet of a place

He has a Point

Whomp whomp

Google is attempting to control free speech and competition and that can't be allowed.

DuckDuckGo is my go to search engine after years of feeling manipulated by other search engines

Prove it.

This is one more way of a fascist government to control communications and destroy free speech. There are plenty of other search engines. Just like there is more than one newspaper. Only Russian Trolls are pushing this. Trump says he was less government regulation? Liar!

🙊You guys seeing this?! BITCOIN IS HOLDIND at $12.8k! I think we might really see it hit the $20k mark by Xmas like everyone has been saying!! 🚀 🌛to the moon!!!!!!

I type in Google everyday. I’m not aware of another engine as comprehensive as Google. Is that somehow Google’s fault?

If only there was some commission that could regulate internet communications fairly on a federal level like some federal communications commission that had an unbiased duty of keeping a free and open internet who's members weren't bought by these very companies.

You get just what you pay for with Google.

I fine at hilarious when legislators from some backwoods state that's a breeding ground of inbreds try suing companies like Google with baseless claims. I still remember when the attorney general of Mississippi tried it.

Hope you all heard this:

But have you ever tried to use Bing? Yahoo search? No thanks. I like google search.

Yeah gang, give those FW:FW:FW:FW:FW:FW: emails you get from your lunatic extended family members a chance! 🙄

Do they have internet in Arkansas?

As a teacher in a ‘Google school’ this is especially concerning. An entire generation is being raised with the belief that the internet IS Google.

Nice of you to finally join reality. We have been telling you this for years now. Maybe you should actually try listening in the future?

Just another reflection of how corrupt today's Republican party is. They had over five months to pass stimulus to help people from Covid. Not one bill passed. Yet they work nonstop for their Supreme Court nominee. VoteBlueToSaveAmerica2020

Arkansas lol

Wow even NPR is figuring this out.

None of which is relevant if you still have reasonable alternatives to Google.

Well that's silly, I get the same results from Ask Jeeves.
