It's the first day of monsoon season in Arizona and an excessive heat warning is still in effect. Expect temperatures near 113° in Phoenix.

High temperatures in Phoenix are expected to be near 113° and an excessive heat warning remains in effect through 8 p.m. June 16.This will be the fifth day in the month of June that high temperatures will exceed 110°, according to the National Weather Service.The last time Phoenix had no days over 110 degrees was in 1911. Ah, the good ole days.The Valley's heat relief stations will remain open to anyone who needs to cool down.

Hydrate: Take a cooler to keep extra drinking water cold, and consider adding several frozen bottles of water to use for cooling off or to thaw and drink if needed. Make sure everyone, including pets, stays hydrated.Get help: If your vehicle breaks down in extreme heat, call for assistance right away to reduce wait time, and run the AC. If the AC isn’t working, roll down all windows.
