So the "Brad Pitt likes to sculpt and make pottery" portion of the item makes total sense, but how did DiCaprio get involved in all of this? He's been spotted on the Art Basel Miami Beach circuit before and maintains an art collection, but he's never struck us a hands-on artsy kind of guy. Then again, apparently no one is excluded from wanting to try out working on a pile of clay when the opportunity presents it self. It really is something Freudian, after all.
Pottery, in particular, does however mesh with one of DiCaprio's well-known passions: the environment. Clay comes directly from the earth, after all. It's completely natural. Pottery is made from a renewable resource, and is designed for more longterm use than other materials. While there's some sustainability concerns about the amount of energy it takes to heat a kiln, it's still less than the amount to create glass.
Though, Pitt and DiCaprio aren't the only celebrities to have recently discovered the joys of pottery.
