This comes after an order from the country’s market regulator.

or specific app capabilities, that will let developers add third-party payment processors for dating apps in the Netherlands. Dating app developers can either direct customers to a website to complete their purchase or add a third-party payment service within the app. However, if developers choose to snub Apple’s payment service in favor of an alternative, Apple says it won’t be able to help users with refunds, subscription management, or any payment issues.

Does in kind count?

It’s not really ‘letting’ when the ruling forced their hand though is it? They are appealing the decision and charging a commission for external payments, so I don’t see this as painting Apple in a good light tbh

Purchased dates? Isn’t there a name for that?

Why only Netherlands wtf people doin there

Oh they will allow this but they wouldn’t allow epic games to have a second payment method in the game Fortnite on iOS 🤦

This is not really true. They only enable new Dutch-only dating apps to use the new options. You also fail to mention that Apple will be charging a commission.

What about the rest of the world?

'Apple says it won’t be able to help users with refunds, subscription management, or any payment issues.' Dont worry apple, leave that to the users who are paying and the companies that are getting the cash. Making progress apple.. keep it up!

this headline sounds like a madlib
