But it’s effectively missing the rest of the chart where the 3090’s line shoots way past the M1 Ultra .A very approximate and unscientific rendering of what an actual 3090 vs.
M1 ultra is targeted toward professional computer uses such as video editing etc etc…. An RTX 3090 is mainly targeted at gaming in high resolutions and frame rates with ray tracing.
3090 is old news when 3090Ti is already it’s successor followed by 4090

They cut off the graph that they compared with 3090... 3090 could pump more power but now that people watch that graph they think m1 is equal to 3090... i think it was mkbhd who showed how the actual graph should have been in his video
Its clear that the m1 ultra is more efficient than anything out there but people dont buy desktops for there efficency, they buy them for power usage. So I would take the 3090 any day because of its versitility.

On the contrary, I think this comparison is unfair to apple. A 3090 graphics card is almost bigger than a Mac studio...
The audience that Apple is trying to reach aren’t PC gamers anyways. They are targeted at pro content creators, corporate executives (decision makers) and small/medium sized businesses. These machines aren’t for regular consumers. Apple doesn’t care if gamers mock them.
At least they seem to care about the efficiency game.
Yes we know Macs are not for gaming. But the point here is not 'it doesn't matter anyways' but the fact that Apple's charts lack a lot of information and can be misleading.

MKBHD made a great 'real' chart of the RTX 3090 vs Apple M1 Ultra. Apple is emphasing the power consumption efficiency of the chip not its maximum power in the keynote chart.
No one is buying an M1 Ultra for gaming like RTX buyers are
