Apple is among the companies most exposed to future tariffs because it assembles almost all of its products in China

Renewed trade tensions between the U.S. and China threaten to throw Apple Inc. back into the global trade battle, putting its iPhone business at risk just as the tech giant appeared to be shoring up declining sales of its most important product.

The round of tariff increases that hit Friday don’t directly affect iPhones, iPads, Macs or Apple Watches. But President Trump this week threatened a tariff of 25% on $325 billion in Chinese imports that haven’t previously been targeted by duties. Those would cover virtually all Chinese...

dagenmcdowell Maybe apple and the U.S. should get out of bed with the communists

Apple along with other heavily effected companies manufacturing their goods in China should now consider relocating to Malaysia. Labor is cheap and raw materials aplenty.

Good let apple feel the pain.

Please the govt should not destroy our apple phone pls. Let this trade war stop, its the people that is suffering the outcome.

If Trump loves tariffs so much he should tariffs IPhones at 50% . Buyers already love paying thousands for a phone and those that don’t can buy Korean.

Who cares Tim Cook a fool to not diversify

The use sweat shop labor. This is good.

Then they should move back to USA to avoid the tariffs.

dagenmcdowell Remember that old saying about 'putting all your eggs in one basket'

Do we really need to replace our cell phones every 12 month!!! NO

dagenmcdowell Finally Chinese slave labor would get a coffee break. Thanks president Trump!

America has been too lax relying on foreign countries for products. It would be great to see “Built in America” once again.

How does Tim Apple feel about that?🤔

dagenmcdowell Oh well they should have the company in the US but since they don't you got to pay the price

Correction. Apple's contract manufacturer Foxconn assembled all its products in China. The tariffs would force Foxconn to move and it's working because they ARE moving out of China.

TS !

Make in USA!!

Let them move the jobs back to the USA🇺🇸

Apple should assemble its products in the US. Simple as that.

dagenmcdowell That’s fine. It’s time for tim_cook to begin manufacturing elsewhere if for no other reason than Chinese political and labor practices. Ideally Apple would add a new label to their packaging - Deaigned by Apple in California. Made in the USA.

It deserves...

China got their hands on Steve Job's invention...and reverse engineered it! Now...they don't care if we stopped all future production of the IPhone because they have what they came for. Bye Felicia!

Good! Indirect taxation... About time Apple paid some dues!

Stiff shit.

dagenmcdowell Apple is already outrageously over priced. Maybe they will lower their prices at some point.

What about Trump ties?

Yet will prob get an exemption.

Sounds like Apple needs a bit of diversification in its supply chain. Which, I'm pretty sure, is what this is really about.

realDonaldTrump tim_cook got a problem with manufacturing in the USA? Apple
