A ruling that emerged from a powerful federal appeals court in Washington this morning is strong evidence that the courts are unlikely to be receptive to Trump’s claims that he's being silenced by social media platforms like Twitter

A ruling that emerged from a powerful federal appeals court in Washington on Wednesday morning is strong evidence that the courts are unlikely to be receptive to President Donald Trump’s claims that he and his political supporters are being silenced by social media platforms like Twitter.

“Freedom Watch’s First Amendment claim fails because it does not adequately allege that the Platforms can violate the First Amendment. In general, the First Amendment ‘prohibits only“Freedom Watch contends that, because the Platforms provide an important forum for speech, they are engaged in state action. But … ‘a private entity who provides a forum for speech is not transformed by that fact alone into a state actor.’ ...

Trump’s aides have been vague about his plans, but one option reportedly under consideration is a blue-ribbon panel to examine alleged unfair treatment of conservatives by social media platforms. The district court judge who handled the suit, Trump appointee Trevor McFadden, held that law didn’t cover the companies’ virtual, digital platforms. The notion of excluding online businesses from anti-discrimination protections so worried the District government that D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine weighed in with a friend-of-the-court brief asking the D.C. Circuit to reject that position.

Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman called the decision “outrageous” and vowed to press on with the case.

Exactly why people claiming the NFL was violating 1st amendment rights of NFL players by banning kneeling during the national anthem were wrong. First amendment only applies to government action, not the private sector. It cuts both ways.

I thought he could simply write a check for google and own it. No?

Trump just rails against everything. Just wait until he loses Election2020

Well this made my day! Why would a so-called President go to court for such claims when he's the main contributor in tweeting. Trump is overly mad cuz he's being fact-checked on Twitter and America is seeing it lol. His lies is being exposed!

Here we go as court has enough of his drama on daily basis.

He’s not being silenced, his lies are being exposed.

Trump gets his hand slapped. The tweet was not removed. What is the first thing Trump does? He files a lawsuit. This is how he does everything....always has...always will and over a tweet, he's willing to go to the Supreme Court. Nonsense.

The thing is, Trump hasn't said anything new in over 4 years. Why listen to anything he has to say?

He made a bols face lie he isnt being persecuted or a victim in anyway. He said vote by mail equals fraud thats a lie just like voting for trump gives you automatic addmision into the kkk thats also a lie. Hence since he violated fake news policy he was repremanded appropriatly.

Yay!

Not at all surprising and consistent with rulings about other freedom of speech issues through the years ... all in all, just one more piece of the Constitution for Donny and his GOP posse to attack and attempt to dismantle. Not this time though, thank goodness. And the courts.

If only it were like that... I''d donate every month to Twitter

Silenced? Nothing will silence this blowhard.

SCOTUS

Unbelievably, Impeached Trump doesn't know that government is the only entity forbidden to censor free speech. Companies in the public sector have the freedom to determine what content is acceptable, according to the rules and regulations established on THEIR platforms.

Silenced? Nobody can shut the man up. Silence would be golden.

Just because they disagree with Trump is no reason to try to stop any media. Trump wants to destroy anyone/business that refuse to kiss his ass. This President is out of control & is showing more of his desire to become dictator. To control everything & screw the constitution.
