AP PHOTOS: Popular Christmas markets open again in GermanyHEIDELBERG, Germany (AP) — Germany's popular Christmas markets are back in business, and the Gluehwein is flowing in Heidelberg's old town — under the city's landmark castle. Spread across several city squares, Heidelberg's Christmas market offers some 140 stalls along with an ice rink and a carrousel for children. The market is open well into the evening through Dec. 22. Christmas markets large and small are a feature of most German cities during Advent. Heidelberg's is one of the most picturesque, with the illuminated castle presiding over the festivities. I come from coastal side of Guatemala a port to the Caribbean. When tourist go there they say 'this is heaven, why would you leave this paradise for another country?' They only experience the tourist point if view, but if our country wasn't so corrupted, yeah, it'd be heaven.

Others came to demonstrate their strength, endurance or ability to pull heavy ropes or to paddle small wooden dugout canoes. The women wore brightly hued dresses in red, orange, green and purple, with hand-embroidered details. Men stained their arms and faces with black ink extracted from a mountainous fruit. AP PHOTOS: Lobster divers risk injury, death in HondurasPUERTO LEMPIRA, Honduras (AP) — Saul Ronaldo Atiliano was diving for lobster in the clear waters off Honduras' Caribbean coast when he felt a pressure, a pain in his body. And he knew he'd gotten the sickness that has killed or disabled so many of his Miskito comrades. 'The pressure attacked me deep in the water,' said Atiliano, a 45-year-old Miskito who for 25 years has dived for lobster, most of which winds up is exported to the United States. And men in the US make their living from coal mining—even if it means black lung. Your point? Lobster traps? So, don't eat their lobsters. Send dive instructors. Or, just accept that life is difficult and get on with your day.

AP PHOTOS: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ventures abroadBEIJING (AP) — For more than six years, the leader of North Korea remained cloistered inside his country. Then Kim Jong Un emerged. His arrival in Beijing on Tuesday marked his sixth foreign visit in less than 10 months. His travels started in China in March 2018, followed one month later with a step over the border to the southern side of the demilitarized zone that divides the two Koreas, where he met South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in.
